A charming vintage Avia ladies' wristwatch, Swiss made and dating from approximately the 1960s–1970s.
The watch has a particularly attractive 18mm gold-tone rectangular case with clipped corners, giving it a classic mid-century appearance. The champagne dial is beautifully simple, with applied baton hour markers, slim hands and the Avia name prominently displayed. The dial is also marked Incabloc, referring to the Swiss shock-protection system used in the mechanical movement.
The watch is powered by a traditional manual-wind Swiss mechanical movement, requiring winding by hand rather than a battery.
The case back is marked Swiss Made Watch, Stainless Steel Back, Base Metal Bezel, together with reference 4885.
It is fitted with a complementary brown leather strap which suits the warm gold tones of the watch particularly well.
