Elegant and authentic Omega Ladymatic ladies automatic watch dating from 1965, reference 551.004, powered by the highly regarded Omega calibre 661 automatic movement with 24 jewels.
One of the standout features of this beautiful vintage timepiece is its original faceted acrylic crystal. Popular during the mid-1960s, the crystal is cut with multiple angled surfaces that catch and reflect the light, creating a distinctive jewellery-like appearance and adding considerable character to the watch. These decorative crystals are increasingly difficult to find in original condition and are a charming reminder of Omega's more design-led period.
The watch is presented in a gold-plated case with a classic silver dial, applied baton hour markers and elegant dauphine hands. In 1961 Omega released a new watch mechanism: Calibre 661. By the number of components per volume, it was the smallest ever industrial-manufactured automatic movement in the world. To this day, this record is still unbeaten!
A stylish and increasingly collectible vintage Omega that combines the practicality of an automatic movement with the refined elegance of 1960s design.
