The "Hirondelle" ("Swallow") bookend/paperweight was designed and first produced by René Lalique in 1928. This version had a black glass base. René revised the design in 1942. The piece on offer is of this later design (Hirondelle-B) and more recent manufacture. The design is no longer in production.
The base is engraved "Lalique ® France".
The bookend/paperweight measures approximately 8 cm wide, 8.5 cm deep and stands 15.5 cm tall.
The bookend/paperweight is in excellent condition with no faults noted. There is no original packaging.
