An exceptional and rare 101-piece (16 different items) hallmarked sterling silver flatware service by the prestigious Garrard & Co., assayed in Sheffield in 1962 and presented in its original fitted Garrard canteen.
Founded in 1735, Garrard & Co. served as Crown Jewellers for generations and is recognised worldwide for producing some of Britain's finest silver.
Complete sterling silver services of this quality and scale are increasingly difficult to find, particularly retaining their original fitted canteen.
This Garrard & Co. 101-piece sterling silver canteen, was manufactured by Roberts & Belk in the Registered Design 667120 pattern.

The service is housed in its original fitted Garrard two-tier canteen, retaining the original green baize-lined interior with labelled compartments.
The canteen is supplied with both original keys. Both fit the locks, the top lock operates intermittently and may require occasional adjustment to engage correctly the bottom lock appears ceased.
The cabinet remains in very good condition and provides both excellent protection and an attractive display for the service.
Condition
The service is presented in excellent overall condition with only light signs of careful use consistent with its age. The silver has been well cared for and the hallmarks remain crisp and clearly defined throughout.
The canteen is likewise in very good condition with only minor age-related wear to the exterior.
