Description
A fabulously rare to find, English delftware William and Mary coronation plate.
This item which dates to 1690 , is in wonderful original condition.
It shows a very naive representation of William and Mary in royal regalia , which is typical of the period.
The reverse of the plate shows the brown fired ,clay back ring base , which was never glazed in the day as it was not shown and kept down the cost of production.
With the typical Delftware rub marks to the edges due to the soft glaze.
Free from restoration and repair as shown.
A stunning piece seldom seen outside of important collections.
