This item which dates to circa 5th- 6th century AD, is in fabulous allover condition.
It retains approximately 80 % of its original guilding ,on a surface which is chip carved with an openwork scroll design. The design itself is very much in the Jutish openwork scroll style and as such very difficult to find.
The original iron fastening pin on the reverse has long since perished ,as would be expected, however the catchplate is still present.
It is of majestic style and form and would make an ideal centre piece to any collection.
Size 4.8 CM in Dia.
From an old collection found in Oxfordshire in the 1930s.
As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete with a display box together with a certificate of authenticity.
