Description
A rare to find solid silver Commonwealth period shilling coin .
This item which is dated 1652 , comes from the period directly after the English civil war,when the forces of Oliver Cromwell had defeated those of King Charles 1st , culminating with the King being beheaded.
GOD WITH US to the edge of the coin .
A small piercing to the edge of this coin, as likely warn as a pendant by a Cromwell supporter in the period to show allegiance.
Size 2.8 CM in Dia.
Norfolk collection 1960s.
