A very difficult to find, roman military decorated bronze buckle and belt plate.
This item which dates to circa 4th century AD, is in excellent allover condition.
It is decorated with an openwork design to the belt plate in the form of a cross
with ring and triangle line work.
The buckle shows much Germanic influence and is likely to have belonged to possibly
A germanic soldier serving within the roman army.
The buckle pin that goes through the leather belt ,has been lost in antiquity.
A lovely deep patination and wonderful condition.
This piece comes highly recommended.
Norfolk collection 1960s.
Size 7.4 CM in Length.
As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete with a display box together with a certificate of authenticity.
