A fabulous looking roman bronze petera handle showing the face of the god Bacchus,
and dating to circa 1st -2nd century AD.
The petera was used as a reseptical for offerings to the gods as well as libations...
This is the complete handle with part of the attachment to the bowl is still present.
The God Bacchus was the god of wine fertility, agriculture and theater and as such an important god figure to roman society.
Size. 11.5 CM in Length.
