A very difficult to find early roman period, bronze aesica type cloak brooch.

This item which dates to circa mid to late 1st century AD, is in lovely condition.

A well cast brooch with good style and proportions, and with good weight.

The end of the fastening catch plate is missing as can be seen ,but likely how this piece was lost in the period.

Size 4.4 CM in Length.
