A vintage Moorcroft vase in the Leaf and Berry design by William Moorcroft.
The height is 125mm (4.92inch)
Leaf and Berry is an early design which research indicates is one of the designs in the factory sales book for 1934 and 1935.
The MOORCROFT and MADE IN ENGLAND back stamps (both impressed) and positioned as they are on the base suggest a date range c1949 to 1986 for when the vase was manufactured.
Condition: Vintage items may have small imperfections and/or idiosyncrasies due to the manufacturing processes of the day, usage perhaps over many years and how an item has been stored but any significant issues will always be highlighted in the description. The vase has been closely inspected and assessed as in excellent vintage condition.
The colours remain bright and on the dark green ground make for an attractive item ready to add to a collection. The Leaf and Berry design is also a little rarer than some of the other options of the period, which may add interest to a collector. (Nb The white flashes are simply reflections picked up by the camera).
This Leaf and Berry vase is available by ordering online only however if visiting the Antiques Centre in York a selection of other Moorcroft pottery can be found in Cabinet 138 which is located on the Lower Ground Floor.
