A very interesting and rare to find, late roman period, bronze Germanic belt buckle.
This item which dates to late 4th - early 5th century AD, is in wonderful allover condition.
It would likely have belonged to a Germanic soldier / mercenary serving in the late period Roman army.
With excellent openwork decoration and still retaining its belt pin , this is an excellent quality item.
Lovely patina to the metal.
Size 4.0 CM x 4.3 CM.
Wiltshire collection early 1970s.
As with all of my antiquities and coins this item comes complete with a display box together with a certificate of authenticity.
