A Collection of Eight George III Channel Islands Silver Tablespoons. Jacques Quesnel I, Jersey circa 1800 - 1810. All spoons with mongrams or initials to the terminals and two dated 1812.
All eight spoons bear the JQ mark for Jacques Quesnel. He was active from 1781 until 1821, when he was succeeded by his son. There was no legal requirement for hallmarking in Jersey and the maker's mark was sufficient to indicate silver.
Approximate weight of all eight spoons is 438 grams or 14 troy ounces.
Approximate dimensions of largest spoon are 23.3 cm length and 4.6 cm bowl width.
Approximate dimensions of smallest spoon are 20.7 cm length and 4.1 cm bowl width.
In good condition, being free of dents and creases. Moderate surface wear commensurate with age. Some firescale visible, but no evidence of repair.
